LUC THE HAGUE RESEARCH CENTRE
Established in the summer of 2010, LUC The Hague is the international honours college of Leiden University. Embedded in the vibrant and cosmopolitan atmosphere of The Hague -- the international city of peace and justice -- it is a lively community of scholars and students working together to address questions of world politics, global justice, comparative governance, human interactions, and sustainability.
As a highly selective college of Liberal Arts & Sciences, LUC seeks to pursue a distinctive and creative approach to scholarship that tests the boundaries of conventional, disciplinary knowledge in both form and substance. Work pursued under the umbrella of the LUC Research Centre is interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary in orientation, often seeking innovative and creative ways to involve both the arts and sciences in the quest to find solutions to contemporary problems.
Believing that scholarship should be socially and politically responsive, and that scholars have a responsibility to engage in contemporary debates, the mission of the LUC Research Centre is to showcase and support the research community of LUC The Hague and to provide a hub for critical scholarly discourse on questions of peace, justice and sustainability.
